CPS 75th Anniversary

Welcome to
Britannia–Rideau Power & Sail Squadron

Providing Boating Education to the National Capital Region & the Upper Rideau Waterway

Britannia–Rideau Squadron(BRS), serving Ottawa-Carleton for over 40 years, is a non profit, educational organization dedicated to making boating safer and more enjoyable by teaching classes in seamanship, navigation and related subjects. Our members are boating families who contribute to their communities by promoting safe boating through education. We enjoy participating with our fellow members on the water and in the classroom.

Britannia–Rideau Squadron / Rideau District is a unit of the Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons (CPS) - Escadrilles canadiennes de plaisance. It is a Canada-wide organization offering boating safety courses, including power and sail navigation courses as well as Transport Canada accredited boating courses, leading to the Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC). CPS also offers VHF Marine Radio courses leading to the Restricted Operator Certificate, ROC(M). See our Training Program for further information.
