Maritime Radio (VHF)
including DSC endorsement
Commonly known as the VHF Operators License this course will teach the phonetic alphabet, as well as correct radiotelephone operating procedures. The manual will enable you to pass the Industry Canada Restricted Radiotelephone Operator's Certificate (Maritime) Exam, which will be given at the conclusion of the teaching session. This certificate is required to legally operate a Marine VHF in Canada.
Learn all about the uses of marine radios, choice of frequencies, operation, phonetic alphabet, procedural words and phrases, as well as Digital Selective Calling and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System, (DSC/GMDSS). All mariners, including recreational boaters, will want to take advantage of the many features and capabilities of this innovative form “automatic” radio.
The course CD includes sound files of actual radio calls.
