The Squadron hosted the Annual Rideau District Conference on Sunday, 11th May at the Britannia Yacht Club. The arrangements were coffee and cakes available for the delegates on arrival and a cash bar at the luncheon break followed by a cafeteria style lunch. The arrangements proved to be popular with the participants.

Retired Commander James B. Milne wrote an article titled "Britannia The Sailing Power Squadron". It was the story of the formation and the early years of the Squadron. It was an excellent informative article and was published in the June, 1975 issue of the Port Hole.

The plans for a Rendezvous and other summer social activities were cancelled because boat owning members were fully involved with events associated with the yacht clubs on Lac Deschenes.

1st Lt. Campbell resigned as Secretary when he was transferred to Vancouver in September. The Commander appointed Claire Geoffrion, AP to be First Lieutenant and Secretary until April, 1976.

In September there was a total of 266 students registered of whom 171 were in the Boating Course. This course was offered in three separate classes, two in English and one in French. The Squadron arranged with the Department of Mines and Technical Surveys for a film night on surveying and chart making. These films were screened on the evening of 28th November for members and students of the Ottawa and Britannia Power Squadrons. There was a break for coffee and cakes and afterwards the Dominion Hydrographer, Mr. Harvey Blandford and two of his staff offered to answer questions. This produced a lively discussion. The evening proved to be both highly enjoyable and educational for the many members and their friends who were present.

Another achievement in 1975/76 was inauguration of the Squadron newsletter, Running Fix. The first issue of the Running Fix, appeared in February, 1976. The editor was Lieutenant Norman Avery, S. Flattering comments were received from Rideau District and from the Commander of the Ottawa Power Squadron. This newsletter format was well received by members of the Britannia Squadron and there were four issues during the year.

The Annual Graduation Dinner and Dance was held in the ballroom of the Ottawa Holiday Inn, Kent Street on 26th April. One hundred and sixty members and guests were present. The guests of honour were District Commander George T.
