Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons
The Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons (CPS) is an organization of recreational boating enthusiasts dedicated to promoting safe and responsible boating. It is a national non-profit volunteer organization with some 31,700 members divided into 173 Squadrons across Canada. It is the largest organization of its kind in the country and, on a per capita basis, in the world.
Since its inception in 1938, CPS has provided training for over half a million boaters, both power and sail. Training courses are available for both new and experience boaters in all aspects of recreational boat operation and safety.
The objective of CPS is to promote education, public service and enjoyment in boating and to act as a strong advisory voice with the federal and provincial governments.
In addition to Britannia–Rideau Squadron there are two
other Squadrons
in the National Capital Region.
